Divinity Fudge Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups white sugar
3/4 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup boiling water
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts, or nut of choice
Directions:
Mix sugar, corn syrup and water together.
Cook, stirring constantly, until tested by dropping a tiny bit into cold water.
When done, it will crack against the side of a cup
(270 degrees on a candy thermometer).
Beat the egg whites until very stiff.
Add the salt and vanilla to the egg whites.
When the syrup is ready, pour very slowly into the egg whites.
Beat until creamy.
Add nuts.
Pour into a buttered 8x8 inch pan, or drop by teaspoonful onto waxed paper.
Let cool.
